I know everyone who loves to buy latest Smartphone knows Samsung has unlived Galaxy S5 on 24th of February 2014. May be you are now in end of your contract or you are enthuse to buy Samsung Galaxy S5. But the real question is, is it really worth to buy it or better to keep your old Samsung Galaxy S4. I know guys this question is always raising in your mind. Probably this article helps you to decide what to choose.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Display

Samsung Galaxy S5

Latest updates from Samsung claims that it will be available to any retailers and carriers on 11th of April 2014 worldwide. Pre-order will begin on 28th March 2014. Let’s see some of the cool feature of Samsung Galaxy S5. It is same like its predecessor. It has 5.1 inches Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution (432 ppi) but when we consider Galaxy S4 it has 441ppi. So Galaxy S4 has more ppi (Pixels per inch) even though it has 5.0 inches screen.  Theoretically Samsung Galaxy S4 should shaper than the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Processor

Samsung Galaxy S5 is powered by the Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset and it has Adreno 330 GPU (graphics processing unit) for high quality graphics. Samsung Galaxy S5 has significant speed than its predecessor. If you like multitasking work this is the phone for you.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Body & Durability

This time also Samsung did the same plastic design phone as previously. It comes with Electric Blue, Copper Gold, Shimmer White and Charcoal Black colours. Samsung Galaxy S5 dimensions are 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weight 145g. S5 is slightly heavier and bigger than Samsung Galaxy S4. But in durability it looks Samsung Galaxy S5 is the winner.

Samsung Galaxy S5 USB Port Covered Up Properly

It is IP67 dust and water resistant likes the Sony Xperia Z range and phone will be survived up to 1 meter under water for 30 minute maximum. But you should keep the USB Port covered up properly on bottom of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Camera

Samsung Galaxy S5 16MP Rare-Facing Camera

Now let’s talk about camera. Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with 16 MP, 5312 x 2988 pixels rare-facing camera which has 0.3 seconds fast auto focus. It declares fastest auto focus for any Smartphone up to today. The front camera same as it predecessor as 2 MP supports 1080p. Best feature is S5 camera supports 4K video recording like Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery

The battery of the S5 is a significant improvement. It comes with 2800mAh Li-Ion battery. According to the Samsung it helps to playback 12 hours’ video and 21 hours talk time. Samsung has used a technique called “hibernation” to increase battery life while we play video. It detects what parts are not changing on the video and freezes data transfer rather than reactivating the pixels on video each time. I think S5 is a best option if you are a video lover.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Storage & OS

Samsung Galaxy S5 completely redesigned TouchWiz UI

It comes with 2GB RAM as same as its predecessor with 16/32GB internal storage which capable to extend up to 128GB with a memory card. It is running with Google Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with latest completely redesigned TouchWiz UI.

Samsung Galaxy S5 New Features

Samsung Galaxy S5 home button is integrated with fingerprint scanner

Samsung Galaxy S5 introduced couple of new features. Now home button is integrated with finger print scanner same as Apple did in iPhone 5S and it can be used to pay bills over Paypal. S5 touch screen also supports finger prints and you can lock/unlock phone as well as access Samsung service without entering any code.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Heart Rate Sensor

On the back of the phone you can find a Heart Rate Sensor. It can monitor your heart rate by your finger print. I believe it is not a necessary feature because we can do the same thing via third party apps like Cardiograph and Instant Heart Rate with the help of rare-mounted camera.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Kids Mode

There is a new Kids Mode with dedicated apps to help kids to prevent access to unnecessary apps on the phone. I think it is really helps for parents whose kids love hi-tec gadgets.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Ultra Power Saving Mode

I believe the best feature of Samsung Galaxy S5 would be Ultra Power Saving mode.  It will automatically turn your display to black and white and it will stop all apps and functionality except calls and messaging. This mode will helps you to run your phone for 24 hours even battery has dropped to 10%.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 supports to work with next generation smartwatches like Gear Fit, Gear 2, and the Gear 2 Neo.

In United States SIM-free Samsung Galaxy S5 pay as you go price will be $650-$700 and United Kingdom it will be cost around £599 -£650.

My Conclusion

In conclusion I can’t tell exactly is it really worth to buy Samsung Galaxy S5 or better to keep your old Samsung Galaxy S4? It depends on your needs. If you still love the feature of S4 then you can keep it. But don’t forget to update your Galaxy S4 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. Now Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.4.2 Kitkat over OTA (Over the Air). I like to hear your thoughts. Just comment it down or tweet to me.
